What You Need to Know

Halloumi is a semi-hard cheese made from sheep and goat milk (sometimes cow) with extremely high sodium content from the brine used in its production. A single 30g serving contains around 400mg of sodium — a significant portion of a dog's daily limit in one small piece. It is also high in saturated fat. Neither the sodium nor the fat content makes halloumi appropriate for dogs in any amount beyond a tiny accidental taste.
