What You Need to Know

Gummy bears contain concentrated sugar, artificial colors, and flavors with no nutritional value for dogs. Sugar-free Haribo and other brands use various artificial sweeteners — some contain xylitol which is fatal to dogs. Even regular gummy bears cause significant digestive upset. The gelatin base is not toxic but the sugar and additive load makes gummy bears completely inappropriate for dogs.
