What You Need to Know
Aloe vera contains several compounds including aloin that are toxic to dogs. This applies to aloe vera juice, gel products marketed for consumption, and topical aloe vera that dogs may lick from their skin or from containers. The latex layer just under the skin contains the highest concentration of aloin. Even products labeled natural or organic are not safe for dogs. Keep all aloe vera products away from dogs.
