Did you know?

Worcestershire sauce was created by accident in Worcester England in 1837 when Lord Sandys brought a recipe from India and two chemists Lea and Perrins attempted to recreate it. The initial batch was deemed unpalatable and left in barrels in the cellar. When rediscovered months later the fermentation had transformed it into the complex sauce we know today. The original recipe contained anchovies tamarind vinegar and various spices — the garlic and onion content that makes it toxic to dogs is fundamental to the recipe and cannot be removed.
