Did you know?

The transformation of wild teosinte grass into corn through selective breeding by ancient Mesoamerican peoples is considered one of the most dramatic examples of artificial selection in human history. Teosinte and corn look almost nothing alike yet are the same species — modern corn cannot reproduce without human intervention.

What You Need to Know

Raw corn on the cob is just as dangerous as cooked corn on the cob for dogs. The cob material regardless of cooking state creates intestinal blockage when ingested. Dogs are attracted to both the sweet kernels and the cob residue. Always dispose of corn cobs in secure bins inaccessible to dogs. Garden corn stalks also present blockage risk.
