Ham is very high in sodium and fat which makes it a significant pancreatitis and sodium overload risk. It is not chemically toxic but regular or large amounts cause real harm. Not recommended — but the occasional small piece is not a toxicological emergency.

High sodium: excessive thirst, urination, sodium poisoning. High fat: pancreatitis.
