Beef liver is safe for dogs in very small amounts and extremely nutritious. It is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available. However vitamin A toxicity from large portions makes strict quantity limits essential.

Large amounts: vitamin A toxicity — bone deformities, lethargy, pain. Regular large feeding: hypervitaminosis A. Beef liver contains more vitamin A per gram than chicken or turkey liver.
